My big world

I don't have to tell you, my readers (oh you multitude of people) that I am diverse. Look at my tabs above.

My newest project is Orphan Care. I wouldn't be doing this if it didn't mean a lot to me. After reading the book Radical over Christmas I knew I could no longer just pray...my brother in Nepal needs help and I know people who have 50$ a month to do it.

Here's the video I put together....contact if you feel God telling you this is what you need to be doing...

Repentance

I have been forced recently to deal with compliments. Everyone likes a compliment every now and then but I have had people comment everyday for several weeks on my weight loss.

I haven't posted about it since finishing the contest last December.

I have continued to lose a few more pounds since I didn't reach my goal in 12 weeks and have enjoyed continuing to workout.

But most of all I have enjoyed the freedom from the bondage. It's been amazing how something that was such a hangup, such a source of guilt and shame could be turned around and used for such enjoyment. In some addictions you simply stop but with food you must learn to deal with food. My body has to eat. I can make pound cake and remember my grandmother's table and reveal in the sweet taste and memory. I worship while dining and creating wonderful food full of flavor. It's divine! God meant for food to be enjoyed and the enemy knows it and tries his hardest to mess us up.

I inevitably am asked what are you doing?

It's quite simple, yet my story could take an hour to tell....I'll stick to the short version, If you want the long version I'd love to tell it...

I did  3 things

Repent- James 4:17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
Eat less-
Exercise more-

you can eat less, you can exercise much but without repenting it didn't work, and it never will

until I acknowledged that what I was doing was sin, I was just trying to help myself

if I have learned anything at all it's that I can't help myself, it's only God who changes the heart

he alone brought made it all come together- there's so much to tell, he counseled me through, he alone, and he alone will get the praise

I only did what I was supposed to do. I never quit following him to freedom. And God did what he promised to do! So compliment HIM, I applaud him quite often and Charis and I dance in the kitchen regularly!

Word of the Week- Waiting

We are all just waiting.
In the waiting place.

Waiting on the artist to shower
or the wind to blow

waiting for the boy to move
and the snow to snow

waiting on the baby to sleep
waiting on mom to shop

waiting on dad to come home
waiting on a the snow to stop

waiting on the call off of school
waiting on the dog to "go"

Waiting on ice to melt
Waiting on water to flow

waiting on a package to come
waiting on a truck to start

waiting on coffee to brew
waiting on romance of the heart

Everyone is just waiting.

For as much as we wait, others wait on us.
So forgive and move on without a fuss :)

My inspiration....
from "oh the places you will go" by Dr. Seuss

The Waiting Place…for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come,
or a plane to go or the mail to come,
or the rain to go or the phone to ring,
or the snow to snow
or waiting around
for a Yes or No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls,
or a pair of pants or a wig with curls,
 or Another Chance.

Everyone is just waiting.

Little boots set by the fire

I wrote this 7 years ago when the boy was 3 and the artist was 2, those days are long gone...as I beheld an old pair of snow boots for a new child on the same hearth and as morning activity gave way to afternoon snow day lazy I found it, took some pictures and wanted to share....

Little Boots set by the fire
Both soaking wet and full of mire

Where once four small feet beset
now tired in their rooms lay rest

Morning gave a fresh white delight
Still snowing but a stop in sight

Three times we have played
Such a fun playground snow has made

What fun we had, a snowman built
Sledding was fun and snow cream spilt

Now dad's sitting and mom's sippin'
Those little boots, a dry they are gettin'

For the next time out and more fun today
Oh how sweet are these little boot days!
