Tuesday weigh in day-week 7

-3.7

Amazing after the week I've had. The kids were home for 2 extra days this weekend making it hard to exercise. Funny thing was by Sunday I was missing my workout. So I worked out in the early am and then did a little weekend exercise stuff with Silas (hiking)

We went to a local "hill" and climbed up it.

Plus I finally got to go out with Cody for my belated birthday, my mom came. We had 3 sets of "get togethers" with various people. Lots of good times made around a table. And then last night happened.

I ate light all day for the annual 4H cookoff. Just look at this set up...

That's Silas' Chocolate Spiders that I entered him in.

And Cady made Ghostly Nutter Butters.

It's like a pot luck/cooking contest. CAdy is still a cloverbud and doesn't get judged. After an hour of judging the very hungry people come in and eat the cold food while they announce the winners. It takes awhile but it's fun. The kids do crafts (they even took pre cloverbud Charis who was running around like a banshee, thank the Lord) while they judge.

The food is displayed so neatly..

Very thankful,
Lori

Think clearly and exercise self control. Look forward to a special blessing that will come to you at the return of Jesus Christ. Obey God because you are his children. Don't slip back into your old ways of doing evil: you didn't know any better THEN.

the grocery store

Well I have loved grocery shopping for sometime now. No, really I do. In fact that was my first outing with Cody, my husband. I was a senior in high school, he was a junior in college. I was a mature but young woman, he was a seeker....He was seeking my father, a seasoned minister and pastor of the church we both attended. We'd had conversations at church activities before but this was the first time we'd done anything together, not that we were "interested" in each other. He came looking for my dad, I was headed to the grocery store. Dad wasn't there, which makes all the sense in the world to me now, he rarely sits still. As I remember Cody came in, waited a few minutes, made conversation and was not in a hurry to leave. Now mom was taken and my younger sister was well, too young for this guy so I saved them both and invited him to go with me to the grocery store. Since getting my license I did this a lot, mom gave me a list, a check and I headed to Homeland in search of culinary delight. It was early November smack dab in the middle of the 90's and all the end isle displays at Homeland were thanksgiving related -translation- pies. "I love pie" "Pumpkin Pie is my favorite" " I can't wait for thanksgiving" "I wonder how you make that pumpkin pie?" "My mom makes a wonderful pie" "I like apple too" He never had a problem talking. I got what we needed, wrote the check- (oh how I miss mom's blank checks) and we went back to my home. Dad was still m.i.a- so Cody left for awhile....

to be continued...

Nov. 15th bout time for a post huh

My life is fast paced, so this will be short. Let's see what's in the bags this week-

we are redoing our kitchen and flooring throughout the house after Christmas (hopefully to be done by end of March) so I have been pricing, measuring, meeting with contractors, getting bids, etc . I am excited but this is going to be like moving- yikes

my kids performed for the first time on stage this morning- Cady would have a great career at stand up comedy if she knew how funny she was off the cuff but she doesn't pine for the stage. Silas loves the stage, he played an original piece on guitar and was a werewolf in a group act. This is all part of 4 H which is a new activity for my kids this year. It has proven to be a lot of fun.

Charis is into climbing onto everything. Cody had her 3 hours this morning and she wore him out. She's still into toilet water.

Cody is cooking chili for his man night of UFC with all his buddies. We've been busy in an exciting way at church with lots of salvations, new faces and renewing spirit of God moving in people's hearts. Our marriage has never been better, still laughing and having fun together.

I've begun Christmas prep. Hopefully I'll get it together this year...last year was a little weak.
I am really trying to keep it simple. All the while thanksliving this month.

Blogation, I have to fix dinner. Let me wrap this up while Charis is bonking her head for the 100th time....I am dreaming of art and theatre camps for the summer??? Lots of talent around here. I was inspired last week by a music therapist. Music is awesome! Speaking of dreams, I had such a disturbing one last night I had to check online to make sure it really hadn't happened. I know stange huh.
